VETERINARIANS
Jamie Wicklund Furutani, DVM, CCRT— Owner/Founder and Veterinarian
Owner and founder of the Mililani Mauka Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Furutani has been practicing veterinary medicine since she graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University in 1997. With an interest in canine rehabilitation, she is now one of the few certified rehabilitation therapists on O’ahu. Her dogs, McKenzie, Tomodachi, and Autzen are seen daily at the clinic.
Reena Shah, DVM, MS, CVA— Veterinarian
Dr. Shah graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences; she received her Master’s in Science from the University of Hawai’i, and her certification for Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians in 2009.
With her husband, Robin, and daughter, Kealia, they enjoy the outdoors, collecting butterflies and doing puzzles in their free time. Their adopted dog, Feathers, and adopted cat, Shrimpy, enjoy going on walks together (yes, the cat walks with them).
Dr. Shah finds helping rescue animals to be the most rewarding part of being a veterinarian.
Kylie Miyashiro, DVM, CVA— Veterinarian
Dr. Miyashiro grew up in Mililani, graduated from Mid-Pacific Institute, and went to the University of Washington and Colorado State University for her Bachelors and DVM degree. Her favorite food is Pad Thai, and the only flavor of shave ice she’s ever ordered is rainbow.
Taylor Schmerbauch, DVM— Veterinarian
Dr. Schmerbauch grew up in Mililani Mauka and graduated from Mililani High School (Go Trojans!). She went to Pacific University in Oregon for her Bachelors and Washington State University for her DVM degree. When Dr. Schmerbauch is not at the clinic you can find her snuggled up to her Shih Tzu-Chihuahua, Kobe, or exploring new coffee shops around the island.
